In Philly!!

While in New York, I had to really downsize my stuff, including the camping back pack I just bought for the trip from Chantelle Leboux. I didnt have time to sell it or ship it anywhere, so i left it on the street and bought a $8 addias ball bag that I could wear on my back and ride by bike with. :( :(

on the amex bus (10$)
Otherwise I would have had such a hassel brining by bike with the heavy panniers/sleeping bag on the back into the metro. It was too heavy to carry on my sholder up and down the stairs. I left on tuesday at 2pm and arrived in Philadelphia at 4pm. Im here now, though I want to get somewhere away from all the people for a bit. Here I am, in another big city!!

Philadelphia is ranked 2nd dirtiest city in the nation, though I cannot tell yet. Come to find out, out of all of the Nations citys it has the most bicycle commuters per capita!! horray!! Though in comparison whith DC and NYC it has way less resources for cyclists. and next to no bike lanes. go figure!

I am staying with yet, another friend who used to live in Charleston for a while. Its in another large group house of 6 people. Everyone here is heavily into punk rock and hard core music. As well as not eating animals. haha. and some are straight edge too.

There is apparently a weekend long celebration that all the punk kids here go to with bands every day and vegan bbqs. they call it the philly punk picknik.  i may attend the daytime bbq on sunday.

Tonight, the kids are throwing a show(their first one) in the basement, so I went along with one of the roomates to get groceries and carpet scraps to cover the dirt pit in the middle of the floor. * will try to post photos later. hhaha. going to metal shows!

Yesterday I went to some of the people in the house's first softball game of the season. It was between the hometeam kids ofwest philly (West Philly Waste) and kids from south philly (Oregon Avenue Octopi) where I stay. Our team (south side) lost, but did well and was close. It was fun, but you know me, not super into sports, so during some of the game I played horse-shoes for the first time.

I want to see this movie, I saw this preview while in Brooklyn during the Indie Screen at North Side festival. It brought a tear to my eye. Tell me what you think.
